Complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS) is a condition that causes severe, persistent pain and swelling, typically affecting one of the limbs. It usually develops after an injury, surgery, or fracture. In this case, the patient has a history of a wrist fracture that has healed but is now experiencing ongoing shooting pains and swelling in her left hand.
